Resumption 25th June to 1st July
During our hiatus, I saw fine weather, or at least reasonably settled, coming up. Since part of our tension had arisen from the need to stop touring and pay the paintwork some serious attention, I announced that that was what I was going to do, and Andrew was welcome to join me.
Ouch!

Much better.
I took Vegvisir north on the Shroppy to Henhull, not far but an excellent mooring spot with a quiet lane running alongside with plenty of parking spots, and got busy.
Andrew was able to join me after a couple of days and asked if I had managed to get any paint on the boat?
Come Sunday night we went along to the Barbridge Inn for a dinner and a proper talk. This included my determination to get down single handing onto the Weaver Navigation before the Anderton boat lift closes for a major refurbishment. Only 8 locks to get there and not a finger to lift on the river as all the locks are crewed by CRT. Feeling brave!
Next day, once the latest coat of paint was well on the way to dry, I took the boat back into her mooring, while Andrew watched from the bank.
It's a bit of a challenge, as you must drive down the Arm to the end, spin in front of the workshops and Café, not a lot of room and not wanting to crash into the rank of For Sale boats, then back up again and reverse into your pontoon slot, again without banging neighbours either side or those moored opposite along the bank.
Nailed it! No pix as far too busy so you must take my word for it.
