Back to base 17th, 18th July

Friday, still hot and still music to look at, so stayed put in my lovely mooring. Another evening stroll, and came upon this telegraph pole. Given that there are maybe three houses visible, what on earth was the need for all these lines? The neighbours popped round again.. But Saturday I  did need to move: pootled up to a winding hole, turned, and came back. No photos because on the tiller. Back at the marina the entrance,  already narrow,  was congested with a moored boat getting its engine repaired.  I got in OK without clattering anything but of course the wind got up as I was reversing onto my pontoon. One of the engineers, Joe, offered to jump on and help, and even he struggled, so I went up the sharp end with the barge pole to help push that stubborn nose round. Time for a proper long shower with a whole tank of hot, hot water!

Reunited Monday 14th July

I've had a month or so 'on the bank' with a number of commitments back in North Wales. Which was great, but gotta use this gorgeous weather for boating! I was supposed to be bringing a friend and her dog for a few days, but sadly she felt unwell on Sunday so cancelled..  I spent the first night in the marina and slept like the dead, so a gentle start to the day. And since I was on my tod I wasn't going to cruise far, just around a few corners to moor up and do some housekeeping. Lovely view! So top of my list was some music to learn for 2 week's  time,  and also prep for an online meeting as well as the meeting itself. A stroll along the towpath in the cool of the evening revealed this info board; And then on Thursday I met the neighbours: And the end of another peaceful day Friday will be time to move.
